Just wondering how many rods you guys usually have in the boat while fishing. What are they? Action, lenth. etc. What are you favorite?

I have 4 on the boat. two just bought are St. Croix Mojo Bass one is a 7' MHF and the other is a 6'6" MF use them for plastics and jigs. the other two are older rods that I will be replacing over the rest of the year. My favorite is the 6'6" Im short and I like the shorter rod, feel like I can control the cast better.
around 10. mostly Lamiglass. about 1/2 baitcasting the other half spinnning. I sometimes may only use a couple or stick with one tecnique, but generally I'll be throwing most of them. I don't like retieing when I'm tourney fishing and I like being prepaired when there's both smallies and largies. I wish I had room for more rods.
i think there are 9 in the boat right now. all diferent brands 3 spinning and the rest BC. probably way to many rods for a 15 1/2 foot boat. spend more time tripping over them than i do choosing a bait. its hard for me to leave a perfectly good rod behind. "what if i need it?"
in reality i only use 4 or 5 of them on a regular day.
my favorite is always the newest

When I fish with my dad I'm only allowed 10. If I'm in my boat usually more than 10, but it depends on the time of year. In the winter I usually only take 3 or 4. This time of the year until around November I will have as many as I can, because conditions and the bite changes so many times throughout the day. I'm biased toward G-loomis, even though I don't like what they've done with their company over the past few years.
Well on the deck... around 8 and then 10 or so in locker.. depending on where I am.. Always try to have 2 of each action just in case I break one. Im about dead even on casting and spinning. Rods this year are Abu Garcia's new bass rods, and Fenwicks. Been super happy with the Abu's new line. These rods are killer for the price. Retail around 80 bucks. Split grip and most actions you can think of.. also more coming this year.. Balanced with a Revo..(factory made to fit revo) and you got one hell of a balanced rod. Ask me next time you see me I will let ya play with one.

8-10 sticks depending if I'm targeting largemouth or smallies. 6 BC's and 4 Spinning rods.
4 on the deck and 6 in the box. Hate stepping on them when they are all out on deck.

Not married to any brand due to buying all my rods based on the feel of the rod for certain applications.
For Years, I never really bought into the difference in rods. Growing up in the Midwest and South, we used nothing lighter than a medium or medium/heavy rod and I never owned a Spinning rod until I was 27 ( moved to Washington). I was always a die hard Zebco/Quantum guy and was a loyal user for most of my life. Quality, as it turns out, does make a considerable difference in sensitivity, castability, and durability. Quantums are great rods, but this year I changed over to the lower end St. Croix rods. They are affordable at around $100 or so each. The MOJO Bass Rods are very comfortable and a lot more sensitive than the off the rack quantum or ugly stick etc.

I have all MOJO Bass rods and usually I have 6 Baitcasters and maybe a few spinning rigs on deck. I keep a few back ups in the box.

But remember this....in an ideal tournament situation, a person should only have a few rods on the deck if he has the patterns figured out. How often does that happen?...the answer for me....is not that often or not often enough.

I usually have six or seven on the deck. Typically even between bc and spinning. I use a spinning rod for jigging probably alot more than most. I do not however flip spinnerbaits with one. I also have six or so in the locker. My favorite rods are the Kistler LTX, but I also have Lamiglas and one carrot stick! I love the Kistler LTX but a guy has to really watch for deals as $300 a pop is a lot of dough.
In a tournament hopefully not many. Out for fun I ussually carry a lot of rods just to try things.I have mainly Lamiglass, Fenwick and Shimanno. And most are in the $100 range. The more you spend the better the rod. It depends on what you want. I wish I had Loomis flippin stick. The light weight is nice. Other than that I am happy with what I have.
In my boat I take no more than 6 rods. If I am lucky enough to be catching a ride in a bass boat I usually take between 4 and 8 rods depending on the size of the boat, time of year, and who it is. My rods are a mix between Lamiglas, Loomis, and St Croix mostly because they have warranties and they still offer rods without split grips. I have picked them all up for $150 or less and I have a couple more bait casters than spinning rods but its very close to split. None of the rods I use are longer than 7'2'' and most are fast action and M or MH power. The shortest rod I use is a 6' Lamiglas Heavy G500 series for very tight pitching situations. I would have to say that the rods I use the most that are the most versatile are my 6'6''-7' MH G-Loomis bait casting rods. I have the IMX and Gl2 783 rods and a Mossyback 853, and they are all easy to throw all day and they can handle most baits I use on a regular basis.
Brian, I though you were a Fetha styx guy...
