bashing an idea is just as wrong as bashing a person if the basher has no smarts in even TRYING to understand the idea. Ron tried to understand but with all the jackasses in that thread I quit trying to explain, even after a couple people DID reply that they seemed to understand what I was doing by flipping a spinnerbait. Too bad the others ruined the thread by their crying. And once again YOU are one of the worst here for causing trouble.

I DO NOT AGREE ABOUT THERE BEING ROOM FOR BASHING. I THINK PEOPLE MIGHT NEED TO BE CORRECTED BUT IN A PROFESSIONAL WAY. IN MY OPINION ONCE SOMEONE IS BASHED, THATS THE FUEL THAT STARTED THE FIRE, AND THERE GOES THE DISCUSSION. I THINK IF SOMEONE IS OFF TRACK OR GOING THE WRONG DIRECTION WITH THE CORRECT INFORMATION THEY NEED TO BE CORRECTED BUT STILL RESPECTED. I THINK IF EVERYONE SHOWED A LITTLE MORE RESPECT TO ONE ANOTHER, EVERYTHING WILL STAY ON TRACK. SO I AGREE 100% WITH MARC. IF ANYONE WANTS TO BE IMMATURE AND FIGHT LIKE LITTLE GIRLS DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. IT TAKES A REAL MAN TO SIT HERE AND ARGUE OVER A COMPUTER SCREEN, LET ME TELL YA! ANYWAYS I FIND THIS SITE VERY HELPFUL WHEN CERTAIN GUYS COME FORWARD WITH VITAL INFORMATION, AND I WANT TO KEEP THAT INFO COMING! THANKS MARC, RON, TAG AND THE REST OF YOU GUYS WHO KNOW HOW TO "TALK FISHING". BELIEVE IT OR NOT A LOT OF US ARE GRATEFUL TO HAVE YOU GUYS ON THIS SITE!

I totally agree Ron, i have been bashed from people on here for no reason what-so ever. I hate it and ya ill talk back, but overall its dumb and pointless. Im here on this site to learn more about bass fishing and to have a good time.

I think I have to agree with Jon and Phil to some extent. If you can't take the heat for saying something stupid, then rethink talking. Being called out doesn't have to be a personal attack, and for the most part there haven't been many personal attacks on this site. Some people get there panties in a bunch when people don't agree with their opinion, or are even confused, but there have only been a few cases where a truely mean statement has been written. Jordan does a good job taking care of it, so I feel like that isn't even a problem. The only problem I see with the bashing is derailing a productive thread. Don't do that. Leave it to one or two witty posts, and if more needs to be said, use pm. The idea of General Discussion area might not be so bad, but I think most people won't read it anyways.

I also have to point out the irony in Tom E's post. You bash someone in a post about not bashing people. Really????

If any of you guys read Ron's statement, he didn't name the guys that drove him off, however, he did name a few guys that he enjoyed and appreciated on the site....I was one of them, and none of you were.

Are we seriously going to have this discussion again? That far off distant thumping sound you hear is that of an already dead horse being beaten once again.

I'm not taking a side on this I'm simply saying that the results of this discussion are already known because it has been hashed over more times than healthcare reform....and do you know what the two (health care reform and this bashing discussion) have in common? The results; which is nothing. Nothing will come of this discussion. People are going to be people, some overly critical and some overly sensitive.

There is a certain amount of bashing that takes place on every forum known to man. My nanny says her nerdy little computer geek boyfriend gets in cyber-wars with other little computer geek nerds all the time over things like computer operating systems. The fact that somone brings this topic up every month as if it were going to have some sort of affect on the outcome is as equally annoying as the bashing. If a discussion goes arry then leave it alone. It is that simple.

Your post Jon is why I like the site! The bottom line for me is I like to have fun and flip crap when needed. Yes you can learn from this site to a certain degree. But for those who think that WAFISH will turn your bass fishing life around will be extremely disappointed. It's the concepts behind what Ron, Marc and Tag ( and many more) talk about that you should pay attention to. The problem is even with the concepts, 99% of the guys here (including me) fail to execute them correctly. The reality is you either got it or you dont when it comes to fishing. Hell that goes for everything in life. Ban Misanthrope......

So fine, I'll fish my way, and they can fish their way and not learn variations of using lures.

I'll make this short....... most of the bashing that goes on is between people that know each other! If there is a problem with what goes on Jordan will fix it or say something! Sometimes I get frustrated rumaging threw all the crap to read something worth while, but on the other hand sometimes I enjoy a laugh or two! I know a few people who want nothing to do with this site because of some of the off beatin posts, but some are here for that reason! Nothing will change unless Jordan want's it too, so why don't we just move on.

Hi Guys,

It's about time I step in a clear things up a little. My intentions for this site are to maintain a place where guys can have fun, share some good information, rib each other a little and communicate outside of club meetings and tournaments. Overall, I think Jon has hit the nail on the head. I don't want to do away with the ribbing, just keep it within reason. Finding that fine line on my side of things is difficult as I have said in prior posts when this comes up. If you have a serious problem, or feel you are being attacked than contact that person directly so threads stay on topic somewhat. From there, if there is an issue or it continues I can suspend people from the site. What many of you need to understand is alot of us on here are friends and know each other more than just online. I've met/know Jon Sessler, Eric Delay, Josh Potter, Mike Bess, and some of the others that are getting complaints and in person they are awesome guys. Try to take things lightly since most of the time they mean nothing personal by it. i don't know about the rest of you but I laugh almost every time I come here and I want that to continue.

Nothing against WL.com, but the environment on this site is alot different. We have a number of guys that fish at a very competitive level, even a few that fish as a profession. That being said, there is alot of good information to be found here from guys with alot of experience. When they correct you or have a different opinion that is because they are trying to help. With that said for those of you that don't have as much experience and are correcting these guys think about what you are saying first and try to word things different such as "my experience is..." instead of "this is the way to do it..." or "only this works...". I'm not saying don't get involved because I want everyone to be involved somewhat but try to process the knowledge these guys are giving you first and don't feel you have to reply to every thread especially if you don't have expertise in it.

Bottom line, this site grew as much as it did because of the two things:
-Good information by good fisherman
-The fun atmosphere and ribbing (not bashing).

Stop complaining and have fun, this is supposed be enjoyable. If you don't like it than either don't read, or go somewhere else, that's just the rough reality of things. Nobody wants every thread to have complaints and people whining.

With all that said let's get back to talking fishing, having fun, cracking jokes and enjoying this awesome sport we all love on and off the water!
