Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Took a trip over to the Quincy lakes this weekend with Nick, his girlfriend Kelcey, Chris Rider and his girlfriend, and Myself and Danielle. The trip started off real bad Friday night, with the traffic stop and go from Issaquah to the Summit on I-90. Finally arrived at camp around 11:00, after leaving here at 6:30. Usually only a two and a half hour trip. Nick met us with cold beers, and fish stories of monsters days of largemouth fishing the few days prior.

The next morning Chris and I head out to chase Tiger Musky, throwing large paddle tail swimbaits and hard swimbaits such as 7" Triple Trout and Tru Tungsten Bluegill (both proven musky catchers). No dice... So we head in for breakfast. We go back out chasing largemouth and have a mini tournament 3 boats go out with not much to show for it. "Team America"(my team) vs. "Team Shitfaced" Nick and Chad vs. C-Ride. C-ride would have won, but didn't bring his fish to the "weigh-in", too bad. Team America prevailed with a monster largemouth measuring about 11" even small for Sessler's standards, tough fishing.

During breakfast, Nick didn't tie his boat up to well and it started floating away, thats when we found out that swimbaits catch boats too!

That night Team America found them and prevailed again,

(Photographer was drunk...)
Shortly after we arrived back from bassin, the carp fishing was on, Corn was the ticket:

The next few days followed a similar pattern. Senkos and Jigs proved to be best for Bass, while corn was head and shoulders above the rest for Carp.

(Doing our best Hobbs/Wolsky impression)

And the girls found ways to stay busy while we were gone....Mojitos!

Kelcey did end up catching a Musky on a pink X-rap of all things, Nick will post pictures later.

Let's see some more pics from this weekend from everyone else.

Looks like you all had a fun trip Jordan! I fished the bass club Jamboree at Banks over the weekend. It was a very fun week! My club pays for the camping for every member that goes so I got to camp from Wednesday night until Monday at Coulee Playland for free!! One of my friends I grew up with in Walla Walla came down from Seattle and fished it with me. My club was making awesome drinks and food every night!! They kept joking around about male bass guarding eggs that would headbut carp off of the nest and I suggested that they make an 8 lb. carp swimbait with hooks in the sides. Everyone seemed to get a kick out of that! I fished Thursday and Friday for fun and then the tournament Sat. - Mon. Thursday was unreal as I caught 39 smallies over two lbs. I had one 20 3/4 " smallie too but left the scale and camera in the car and I have no idea how much it weighed. Definately a big fish for Banks though! Friday I brought the camera and scale but left all the good SM flats alone to rest the fish. I did end up catching a bunch of LM under a highway bridge in the Punchbowl on accident on a dropshotted 3" senko on 4 lb. line. Nothing huge but they were all two pounders and still fun. I then saw a flat on the way back in that looked just like the others I was fishing. I decided to fish it and on the first cast I watched two 2.5 lb. smallies hit my LV 500 at the exact same time right at the boat!! What a rush that was! The tournament ended up going well too! I caught 11.63 lbs Sat., 9.63 on Sun., and 7.81 on Monday and got 4th overall! My club ended up getting second to top that! Saturday was almost too much fun as I was in 2nd and my friend fishing the back of the boat was in 9th after the first day! 90% of the smallies were caught on flukes with LV 500's, Pointers, and Hula Grubs accounting for the rest. I cuaght fish anywhere there was a good flat in the main basin of the lake. This was one of the more fun Memorial Day weekends I have had!! Here are some pics.

Cuaght too many smallies this size and slightly bigger to count!

Some dropshot Largies

Awards (4th place overall and the club got 2nd!)

Looked like a FUN trip Jordan and gang. Congrats to David for sure !!
I caught a pair of 2 lb LM saturday evening, about 8 trout on sunday, and a 3.8 LM out of a federal way lake monday. Nothing too spectacular, just out getting some sun on the skin.
Hey Jordan,
One of those pics looks like you were in Stan Coffin, did you get to fish there too? I have been down there a few times in the past few weeks and had great days each time. Fish were hot on the beds last time i was down, as well as catching them pre spawn too. Nice job none the less, looks like you all had fun.

Dave
Hi Dave,

Yes that one pic was from Stan Coffin. There were a few fish on beds including one right next to the boat ramp. We caught 5 there in two hours flipping tubes into the reeds. The one in the picture was probably the biggest on though. Very cool lake, loaded with Bluegill, I don't think I've seen that many bluegill in my life!
Jordan, Nick, and C-ride,

Thanks again for the fun weekend. I had a blast. C-ride is one mean chef. I've never had meals that good camping in my life.

Hopefully you guys can make it back over here again soon.

Oh ya and you forgot that team shitfaced prevailed in the Sunday morning tourney.
hahaha nice carp dudes!
A couple more pics of carp fishing on evergreen!
