The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Awsome news  guys , Okay for many of use that throw Hardbaits through out the season , some may not know that KVD has develope the "Perfect Treble Hook" ! It called the KVD Triple Grip Treble by Mustad !! I had a chance to view this hook in person down at the sportsmans show and it is money !!  mustad has a simular hook in this style already , but the problem is that it was made with a "Long Shank " which sometimes caused the hooks to get tangled during your retrieve and which could lead into a miss strike or resulting in losing a fish at other times ..

Mustad Redesign a shorter shank along with the Extra wide gap style and well known strenght of mustad hooks !! End result , The perfect Crankbait hook !!! The rep down at the sportsman show said that these hooks will not be in the local tackle shops untill later in the year :-(  !   I cant find these puppies on line anywhere ..Just a little food for thought !!

What are the determining factors when choosing the size for replacements?
Keep it the same, increase front/back, decrease front/back.
What makes these hooks so special? They sound like a Gammy...
The "short shank " in a extra wide gap style !! most of standard extra wide hooks only offer a "longshank" ..

Brian ,

I would suggest 2/0 for most baits , unless you throwing DD20+ In that case i would suggest 3/0 ...

3/0 would be massive for a DD20, if I'm not mistaken.
You are correct chris ,but keep in mind that we are talking about a shorter shank now and one of advantages is that we can increase our hook sizes and still advoid tangles !!

I agree Dez, these hooks look sweet and I have some on the way. You know I'm a big fan of upsizing my hooks, and this will definitely help facilitate this.

Dez- something you should look into is how easy they are to get in and out of your finger......LOL

By the way they do look good. Buy a pack or 2 I'll test yours out for you.
