Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

This topic is very similar to Rons topic on "What Are U Using?" but even more focused. The Spawn is over in alot of lakes and fish are transitioning off of bedding areas out to deeper water to recover. Personally, this is the most difficult time of the year for me to get quality fish, specifically smallmouth, and that includes the winter time!

I usually find myself throwing either a dropshot off deeper structure around the weedline, or throwing a spinnerbait or Crank off of breaks adjacent to spawning flats. Any other suggestions or tricks you guys have found for post-spawn smallmouth?

Let's just make this a team derby. T-Dot will be my partner. You can't beat a Canadian in a troot derby.

Dezzy Dez,

This simple crop, copy and paste only took a few minutes in Microsoft Paint. You just better hope you stay on the good side of the true Photoshop geniuses on this site. Who knows what magical creatures they will have you mounting.
Obviously it varies from lake to lake Joel but yesterday I was on a small, shallow LM lake on the peninsula and there were fry everywhere. I looked at the entire shoreline and only found one spawner and its mate left. All the other beds were empty. Water temps were 74- 77.

So I know most of the smallies in my local lakes have spawned now, but what about the largemouth? I really havent found any largemouth on beds yet. Where are they at in the spawn now?
