Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I have been looking at some impressive pictures in the photo section and it saddens me.  I lost my camera, and need to replace it.  I cannot take any new pictures until I buy a new camera.  I don't have a budget, but it has to be fairly easy to use so the rest of my family can use it as well.  I live near Best Buy if this helps at all.

Danny, I work at Video Only in Federal Way. We sell some digital cameras, and of what we have, I like the Panasonic cameras. They seem to be the easiest to use and take great photos. Canon also makes some good cameras that are fairly easy to use. If you go into the Bellevue store, tell your sales person that you know me from fishing and that I said you could get a little bit of a deal. There is very little mark up in cameras, but they can at least throw in a memory card for you. I am off Sundays and Mondays, but if you want to call the store here and talk to me after Monday, I am happy to give you a little info. The store number is 253-376-7552.

I have a Casio 9.3 mega pixel and my wife has a 6.2 mega pixel cannon, The cannon takes MUCH better pictures because of the lens quality. Its like the difference between bushnell and leupold binoculars, only the price is perty close to the same.
I used to use a Canon Powershot older style until this year when my dad picked out a Panasonic Lumix for me. My dad is a photographer and he knows what he is doing with cameras so I let him pick them out for me. He got it at Costco and it has been working really good for me thus far. It is model DMC-ZR1. It has a great 25mm wide angle which is really good for outdoor use and an 8x optical zoom. I am very satisfied with the quality of the pics the new camera is taking if you check out my page most of the recent pics were taken with the Lumix
I will only buy Olympus Digital cameras. Don't have anything bad to say about Canon's though.
Danny,

I picked up an Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 (mid priced) from Costco last year.

Waterproof/shockproof, and takes decent pics. The picture quality isn't as good as the old PowerShot, but I don't have to worry about rain, water, or breakage with the Olympus Stylus Tough. I'm hard on equipment, so just my 2 cents!
Good Luck!
Thanks so much for all the information and help everyone. I have read up as much as I could, and now it is time for to go into a store and get my hands on one of these and try them out.

Are there any try before you buy places? I dont mind renting before buying.
