Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Just wanted to thank the Chelan Bass Club for and WSBF for putting on a great event.

Guest speaker Brett Hite discussed how he approaches new water, and also a lot about keeping mentally and physicaly prepared. Very intersting and entertaining. Brett fielded a ton of questions. The food was great, as was the raffle... very surprising grand prize. The trap shooting and wine tasting were well attended and everyone seemed to have had a great time. Joe Jacoby named for lifetime achievment, Joe has been dedicated to WSBF and the bass anglers of WA for years. Thanks also need to go out to Gary Morris and Larry Williams for their dedication over the years. Kim Skaar, Roy Van Slyke and all the members of CBC "Great Job"

I agree Keith, they put on a great dinner at a great location and the raffle had something for everyone.
On behalf of Evergreen Bass club we want to thank Gary, Joe ,Larry and Debbie for their dedication to the clubs and people in the WSBF.
We want to wish the incoming board the best and look forward to a new year and would like to encourage everyone to think about fishing the qualifiers this year, the lake selection offers a good challenge and the cost for all 3 tournaments is well worth the experience.

I ditto what Keith and Willie stated. Well run banquet by the CBC and the past WA State TBF board.

I also want to thank the board for their hard work and dedication to the TBF for the past ten years.

Guys and gals give a close look at fishing the TBF qualifiers this year the schedule is a good one:

April Lake Washington

June Tri-Cities

August Moses Lake

2013 Divisionals to be held in Washington TBD

Russ

I'll be there!!! Can't wait!

Any recent talks about moving that last tourny Russ? There is a consensus in our club for those interested in fishing the qualifiers that it should be moved to the westside

Chad,

None so far. Most guys I have spoken with are up for Moses. My suggestion would be to make sure your clubs representative be at the March Board meeting to discuss this.

My suggestion is moving the august to Lake Washington :)

I should probably stay out of this as I am the past president but I can’t.  Honestly, lake choices are always tough.  Where do we fish, how many on the west, what time of year?  But the choice of where these tournaments were held were yours!  These dates were set by the clubs at the March of 2011 board meeting. Not just last week but 6 months ago.  The bodies of water were chosen by the people who attended the Ellensburg WSBF board meeting, not by me or Joe or Larry or Debi.  The lakes were proposed, talked about, and voted on by your clubs representatives who attended the meeting.  The west side clubs picked these lakes.  At the time we all discussed having more than one on the west side and didn’t feel that there were bodies of water that would work at those times of the year.  We now hold our tournaments on the same weekend to avoid conflict with the other major tournament organizations in the state, Northwest Bass and ABA.  To change lakes at this time might mean changing weekends and that would affect all of the clubs dates too.

Maybe the best of all worlds would be to have two qualifiers.  One on the east side and one on the west side and then hold a championship that would alternate between east and west.  The qualified anglers that would move on to the state championship would be a pre-set percentage based on how many anglers signed up for and fished each event.  For example;  If you have 100 fish one the west side then 30 qualify for the fish off.  And if you have 50 fish the east qualifier you take 15 from that one.  Then mix it all up and hold a state championship tournament.  Each event could be run by someone from each respective side of the state to cut federation travel expenses.

I will close by saying that if you want to have input come to the meetings.  No changes can be made outside of a general board meeting.  If you can’t make it to the meeting then make sure that your club’s representative passes on your proposal in writing.  All proposals must be in writing.  It’s your Federation and it is only as good as the input you give it.

How ironic that there is still one permit available for Lake Wa in August! That would be too easy........Also how ironic that everyone I've spoken to about the qualifiers was down with my idea of two westside tournies for numerous reasons. I guess Russ, and I talk to different people. I'll just have to bring my voice to the March federation meeting.......oh wait that is in Eastern Washington also. I vote we have the August tourny at Lake Kechelus and put this to rest! Doucet said:

Chad you know how crazy lake Washington is in August

Ditto What Keith Said!

Sammamish isnt bad in August, and there was some discussion that our club would give up it's permit to make this a go.
