Mark Maderos won the Lake Roosevelt Qualifier on Saturday 4/28/2013 with 16.67 pounds and the Big Fish of 5.29 Pounds just edging out Wes Wezenberg  by .01 Pounds.  There were 48 anglers, with 19 limits brought to the scales.   Although there were several good bags brought to the sales Roosevelt fished a bit below normal for this time of year.  That may have been aided by high winds that came up at 11:00 am with gusts measured up to 70 MPH.

Nice job Mark!  Good bag of fish!

Fished the Sandpoil, and didn't get alot of bite's but knew the right fish were in there to do well.  No one plans on catching a 5lber in Roosevelt though!!!!!  Winning pattern was a green pumpkin/copper flake tube on a spot remover head for the bulk of my fish.  Spot remover head comes thru the rock much better than the football head did. When the wind really picked up we did get a crankbait bite going, but only one of those fish was put into my bag.  Guys fishing around me caught alot of fish drop shoting but were not getting the quality that the tube produced.  Around a 2 to 1 ratio on fish caught by drop shoting versus's tube.

My back seater Ryan Hennessey caught 3 on tubes and 2 on cranks for his nice bag.
