I'll be there!
And why is Evergreen holding a tourney on a Lake you can only fish single point barbless hooks on???
Don't get me wrong i was thinking of heading there tomarrow with a pair of pliers in my my pocket. But during a tourney I think it is highly unethical to break any rules.

Why would you need the pliers in your pocket? To crimp your barb right before the game warden checks your hooks? It's illegal to use barbed hooks this time of year regardless if your fishing in a tournament or not. Evergreen is devoted to upholding all the laws implemented by our wonderful state.

Yeah that was my plan but I wussed out and went to Lake WA. I posted a thread on the new Sammamish rule about a month ago, and the majority of the fishermen who commented said they'd do the same thing. Many of whom are quite reputable anglers. I honestly couldn't bring myself to do it. It's just that I have never fished for bass with a barbless hook before. I like to think I could do it successfully; but I would rather go somewhere I could use a barb. I was just fun fishin though. Sammamish is an awesome fishery, and I'm sure you guys at Evergreen will pull some out.
On another note; Has anyone reading this thread fished Sammamish for bass since the new ruling??? How did you do???

The rule is completely ridiculous and I bet some fish come unbuttoned as a result especially fish splashing around on the surface by the boat, but at least it will be an even playing field for all.
