I tell my wife that I am addicted to tournament fishing. She asks, "why I'm not addictedd to her?" I tell her it is different. She doesn't seem to understand. I think it is fine to be addicted to Bass fishing and tournaments. What about you? Is it the competition, love of the sport you tell me.

I was talking with another angler last night about this years tournaments on the Everstart Series... the butt of each topic we discused kept leading to... "why are we fishing this thing?"  we were joking but the points we were making were valid.... I view it like this, The chance of making a substantial amount of money is slim but the experience is huge! Tournaments are so fun because your competing against the fish, people, the weather, equipment and finances. Gamble, hobby, investment, competition, who knows? But I'm with you I've got an atleast borderline addiction to bass fishing. Don't dump your lady... she let's your butt go fishing all the time!

Wow, what a commentary. You sure she didn't dump your ass.

I love competition. Been involved in sports all my life. When I got into bass fishing, what a rush.

Doing two things I love; fishing and competition. Bass fishing tournaments are the ultimate in matching yourself with the best. Even though you may not be in the league as some of the top anglers around, yet, you always have a chance to beat them. That in its self is a rush. A possibility all of us can relate to.

I am older angler, yet, I still love the chance to go out and beat the younger sticks. Todays young guns are good and that is what creates the challenge. Wanting to beat the best.

That is where the addiction comes into play. What sport can you go out, work your butt off to place, don't do it and then want to go back and do it again and again. Commitment; maybe, fanatic; probably, ADDICTED; for sure.

I have a great wife and she supports me all of the time. Married 43 years and looks forward to my events and results. If don't do well, she says there's the next one. Wow, now that's what I am talking about. Passion on both ends!!!!

Tournament fish is a fun form of gambling for most angler.  I say gambling because only 40-50% of the team have a realistic shot at cashing a good check unless the other half get real real lucky.  Those 40-50% just hope the other angler don't figure this out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know that I can say I am addicted to tournament fishing particularly, but I think I am more addicted to fishing and there is something really special about Bass fishing!  I like the competition with the fish more than anything they can be tough little SOBs sometimes.  Tournaments are growing on me though...
