I am looking at re-carpeting my boat trailer. Anyone have any good suggestions or thoughts that may have done this before?

Thanks for any help!

***Well, I went ahead and got it all done. Treated wood with willwood wood cement, stainless staples, new galvanized lag bolts, galvanized roofing nails for the corners of the carpet, outdoor carpet from Home Depot. Didn't take that much effort, just a lot of time.

Here are some pics...

And all done...

Sorry my friend I had to...

I had to redo one of my main bunks last year, used a treated 2X4 from Home Depot and picked up a package of bunk carpet at Cabela's. Not happy the way the carpet has worn in just a year. I did use stainless steel staples I picked up at Home Depot. It is easy to do with cordless drill at a boat launch parking lot with the boat off.
How do you make the carpet really Snug?  I tore the carpet on my side guide when I rode up on it in a place where the carpet was not snug on the board to begin with.  I am going to take the carpet off both my side guides and put on a teflon strip instead since the boat doesn't sit on them anyway.
make sure it matches the drapes
You glue it on with contact cement then staple the underside.  You can just use a high quality outdoor carpeting really cheap. my dad did his a couple years ago.

I had to replace a bunk and recarpet it 2 years ago. Went with the treated wood and marine carpet from Lowe's. Pulled it tight and stapled it, it's held up well the last 2 years so far. I jacked my boat off the trailer just high enough to pull the bunk out. Put a 2 x 4 along the edge of the boat and jacked it up with a floor jack.

Nick I have done this like a half dozen times Its probably a good idea to do this every 2-3 years or so. I Just use the treated lumber and the marine carpet at lowes or home depot I am sure there is better but this has worked fine for me for wake boats and bass. Once I get the carpet cut to the right length so that it folds around the board nicely I use this glue spray to saturate the carpet then place board down in the right position with pressure by standing on it or placing weights on the board. After that I spray more glue on sides of your boards and wrap the edges the glue holds the edges tight . Then I staple the crap out of the them. Good idea to pull of one of your leg bolts and to check the size just in case you want to replace them and go with stainless.

Launch your boat and throw on the new bunks done deal. Now can you tell me how to catch winter bass

Check out the pics and new info... Turned out real nice. I would highly recommend everyone to check their bunks. I stepped on my old 2x4 and they broke in half... I don't think they made the trailers to last...
