I got a kenwood deck and two speakers last christmas and this winter I added a sub and 4 channel amp.  It was pretty spendy but I like it.  Don't really turn it on when I'm fishing shallow water but its great for pissing people off at blast off.

This is funny nick cause I was just looking at stereo's for my boat. I have been looking at that new thing Lowrance came out with that hooks right up the the new HDS receivers. Looks cool and comes with speakers. I wonder how that thing sounds with a little Eminem?

I ordered my boat with a stereo and I think its a must have item.  Sometimes you just need some tunes.  Plus, not all of us fish 100% of the time.  I upgraded the deck, and the 2 speakers are decent, but it doesn't Boom like Joel's I'm sure.

Mine came with the boat.  It's great to have when fishing by yourself.  Put a little Barry White on in a back bay of Potholes and well you get the idea, all the spawning females come a running to the boat.

  Actually don't use it when fishing in a tourney.  My impression is sound is an energy wave that is passed into the water and could scare / shut down the fish.  When fun fishing it is great to have.

A few of the tournament Pro's I fished with as a CO-Angler listened to music while fishing in the FLW and they both did well in the tournament.

I'm looking into getting a stero also but thinking about just getting a portable water proof small stero to bungie cord to my middle seat. I'd jam all day!

I rock a dewalt radio with an ipod everytime out. Would install a head unit and speakers but hope to upgrade my boat next season. Where did u mount the speakers? Post a pic

This is best bang for buck. Belkin Boombox waterproof and this would be unit that Johnny Walker is talking about which several pros strap between seats. Awesome setup

Has anyone used or heard the Sonic Hub from Lowrance? I was looking at it but I'm not sure how it sounds?

I will be adding the Sonic Hub to my Ranger.  We had one setup at the Sportsman Show, and it was the first time I was able to use one.  It does sound great, and puts out 200 watts of power.  It will play your tunes from a flash drive, or an ipod/iphone, and has AM/FM.  If you have the Sirius package you can get your satellite radio stations as well. 

 

It looks to be a well-made unit, and comes with a pair of awesome speakers.  It is a real value and it is nice to be able to control it from any HDS unit.
