Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

hey guys, i mostly fish small dark colored lakes where i live and have awesome luck with watermelon seed/red flake colors. but this summer i plan on fishing some more lighter colored water such as tapps, sawyer, etc...

so my question is what are some good color choices for these lakes???

thanks, david

Natural colors are hard to beat. Watermelon, Brown, Smoke, and Greenpumpkin are all good.
Mr Hobbs made a great point in his seminar at the sportsman show this year. He talked about trying to match the color of the bottom, as many of the things that live down there will be similarly colored to camoflage themselves. Between that, and matching the forage fish of the lake, you should be good to go.
P.J. and John answered this perfectly!  In addition, I would add that translucent patterns on your reaction baits can be productive in clear water as well.
Good answers, but I'd have to add a sand colored snub!
Chad, I couldn't agree more. I love that thing in clear to slightly green water... like... TAPPS

ok, thanks everyone, can someone put up a picture of a " snub" as i have never herd of this before.

thanks, david

Sniper Lures "SNUB"
Drop shot bait by Sniper Lures... Great little thing that is a proven fish catcher!!!

Sniper baits flat out catch fish. Snubs, bolts, JRT magnums, ect. One of my favorites is the bolt in cinnamon smoke pepper flake. Plus they are a local company!
Have to agree with this on SUPER clear lakes, but not only for reaction baits. Translucent worms like robos can be deadly when the fish want something really natural on a super clear lake (like Mead, NV).

"Aaron's magic" color or "light oxblood, red flake" Roboworm on a drop shot will work anywhere,
Santa agrees!!!  Anytime I need to catch some 1-2 pounders to salvage the day, I go to an Oxblood or Aaron's Magic Roboworm.  Great for the kids and beginning anglers too!  They can just throw them out there on a dropshot and wait for the fish to come by and suck them in.  Easy like Sunday morning!  I love baits that require little to no skill to fish, like a Roboworm on a dropshot........because let's face it, I don't have much skill!!!!!!!!!
