Anyone been keeping an eye out for deals at their local Joes with their going out of business liquidation? Couple weeks from now might be a good time to pick up a bigger ticket item, i.e. a color/gps depthfinder, expensive rod, underwater camera etc. I went on Saturday to the one in Mt. Vernon. Overall i wasn't too impressed at the prices yet but I was able to get a 6'10 Loomis Bronzeback series casting rod and a Daiwa megaforce casting reel for $225 total! Seems like an awesome setup for football heads or carolina rigs! The rod was only $150 bucks after markdowns which seemed like a good price for it! It's my first loomis rod, had it out the last couple days and been loving it!

This is the problem with the "going out of business liquidation sales"...
A hatchet company steps in, raises prices beyond MSRP, then offers a paltry discount at the beginning, where you still pay too much.
After time goes by, their discounts increase and even to the point that you might get in on an outstanding deal.
*However*...by the time these "reawwy, reawwy good deals" come along, chances are they are sold out.
I personally would rather go to the dentist than to one of these slime-ball rat parties.
However...I just happened to be going to Issascratch today...hmmm...
Hey Buzzy......Is that a Busch in your pic?

Hi Chad,
Nice to meet you...I think if you look hard enough (put on your polarized lens) you should see *2* bushes...er...Busches. =)
I'm with ya on this one. My buddy went to the Joes in Renton to buy a bbq. He saw it a few months back and though now that its 10% off he'll pull the trigger. Well he got there and see's the price was raised from what it was then with the discount it was like $12 more than what he would have paid a few months back. What a crock of $hit

I went to Joes in Federal Way. Fishing gear is up to 30% off. I found the last pack of Owner hyperwire split rings, good thing they were 80lbers. I got the last remaining packs of ST-41 owner trebles. They have alot of all sizes of ST-36's, better to leave those til the discount goes up. Got a few packs of gamakatsu jigheads, $3 each. No trout power bait in stock. Berkley hollowbodies $7, I picked up a pack of bluegills. Senko's and related GYB's are now $4.75 a pack. I got a nice wooden Okuma rod rack for $49, only one left. They have a few Excalibur tungsten weights, $3.85 a pack.
I just couldn't wait any longer on a Shimano reel, regular $360 in most stores, got it for $259 before tax, and if any stores still have them when the discount goes up, I'll buy them out hehe.

And for anyone looking for a drop shot rod, Kent has 2 Loomis DSR822S rods left. The crappy thing is they mark them up about $20 more than Loomis's price, but maybe a deal to somebody if they are still around in another week or so.
Drop shot rods at Kent are gone, my mistake.
Picked up a Mustang 3183 Automatic lifejacket today in Puyallup. I have wanted one for quite some time and I couldn't pass up the 30% off and there was only 1 left with the hydrostatic inflator. Thank god it wasn't pink...
Went to Northgate today and fishing was 30% off. Picked up some Yamamoto stuff senkos, creatures, twin tails, and a couple YUM frog packs. They had some awesome laminate color Senkos I hadn't seen before. It's getting picked over, but the plastic is still quite plentiful and a lot of the colors I have had pretty good luck with. Can't beat senkos for about 4 bucks a pack! They had a couple nice Lamis there not many Loomis or Croixs left but it's worth a look.
Lakewood store update as of Friday 1 May. Everything except ammo is 30-50% off. The only stuff I saw 50% off were small fuses, butt connectors, and other misc electrical stuff. Most of the camping furniture was 40% off, they have a few cots, lots of chairs, and other misc stuff. Most everything else was 30% off, they had about 20 lucky craft baits left, a few okuma crankbait rods, lots of lamiglass salmon rods, about 5 misc Loomis rods "one 7-10"walleye rod", tons of Yamamotos, zoom, and other plastics, a bunch of spinning/ baitcast reels, a bunch of tackle boxes, about 20misc spinnerbaits, about 8 buzzbaits, a bunch of other topwaters and plugs, tons of terminal tackle, a few jigs, a bunch of line "no gamma however", and tons of rooster tails and other trout gear. As for the hunting stuff; they have a great selection of camo, calls, scents, guns, and some ammo left. If anyone has any specific questions don't hesitate to ask.
HAPPY SHOPPING
Early this week there were 2 autos and 1 manual left at the renton Joes. I am going to go there in a few and see whats left.
