Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

What do you guys think of the new offering by Humminbird?  From what I have seen of screen shots and read about the visual image and concept, I feel like this could be another huge advantage for anglers.  It seems as if this technology fills a void in the area of true stationary viewing capabilities.  When the boat is stationary or just drifting slowly it sounds like it can show you what exactly surrounds your boat.  The side imaging is something I know gives me a lot of confidence when searching for good areas and spots, but it is truly effective only when the boat is moving at about 2-4mph and in a relatively straight line.  No doubt this is going to be a spendy option on the larger high end line of units, but I can imagine some of you will end up running some of these units this year.  I look forward to hearing from some guys who spend some time with them.

It looks like the new best thing.  Jsut don't forget to raise the probe back up to move to your next spot.

What's nice about this new product is you can add it to any existing Humminbird unit that is Ethernet capable.

Here is a video that does a pretty good job of discribing this new unit.

wow, what a great add-on  its the next on my list..

has anyone had problems with the 998 si losing gps when its cold and damp? this happends first thing in the morning and around noon its starts working again

any ideas?

Cool technology, to bad you have to add a mechanism as big as a Talon to use it. I think I would put up with a small blind spot and mount it similar to the Lowrance structure scan just to avoid the bulky tower. Wonder what's next.
