Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Anyone thought about fishing an early season NorCal Outdoor Heritage event before the NW Bass starts up? I definitely thinking about attending one just to check it out. Seems like they've got some potential to grow in the future also. Believe Gary D. is involved in it.

Few guys I met fishing the Everstart westerns are fishing the south west region and are pretty stoked about it. Hard to break even on a tournament money wise unless you place high but shairng the costs of travel with a co-angler could give a better chance or atleast make it a less expensive gamble.

I just can't wait so long to fish a tournament or atleast need to take a trip somewhere to catch without freezing to death... WA Jan and Feb's kill me with 1-3 fish days

wazz up Johnny  ,

Dude im stoked about this new tourney trail and cant wait for it to roll up here too the PNW in 2014 .

The Dobyns Pro staff has known about this cuircut for a while now but Gary vowed us keep it under the radar untill everything was in place . Now that the expansion stage has started its kinda cool to look forward to pro/am event coming our way in the near future . The payouts are going to be nice and the entry fee's will be affordable in my opinion .

They have a Killer promo video but i cant upload it for some reason :/

JW , you already have an edge in Cali because you have already fished FLW in the past man . Hell if i were in your shoes i would be fishing the cali event next season for sure :)

yeah, I checked out the video and think they have a good plan. I think if they focus their efforts following this season to adding the Pacific NW into the mix during pre NorthWest bass timeframes it'll do we'll in our neck of the woods but if they try to compete during peak times it'll be a tough fight. I personally, if the choice had to be made, would fish a NW Bass over any other competitor in the local area as NW Bass has been putting in the time and work to make a solid trail for years. Dissappointed about no Lake Washington but I can't argue because I seldom get to fish them anyway..

On the Outdoor Heritage series, I'm seriously thinking about fishing some of them as I'll basically be out of the NW Bass scene due to a deplyment happening in June and once again won't be able to qualify for the champioship... just never works out for me but do love to fish them. I'd love to give Cali a few more tries but I need a travel partner to help with the cost of travel if I even think about going though. Tentatively I have a guard thing working but based off the presidential results I'll probably be up a creek for financial support. Not that it's a bad thing for the country or anything as I don't won't to comment on that but the DOD budget cuts scheduled will probably limit the Guards continued sponsorship on the west coast for another 4 years atleast...

If time and finances allow I'm gonna fish through May on whatever open of series events that persents themselves but I need some things to go my way money wise. End of the day I'm just excited that we'll be coming back home soon. I've had a whole year of fishing tournament free and reallly made alot of improvements in the art of bass fishing. The year before last was a great wake up call to what it takes to be successful fishing on the bigger circuits as Pro... licked my wounds and ready to give it a another try when opportunty presents itself.

Another positive thing about the Outdoor Heritage events is the off limits times... FLW Evertstarts don't have one at all but the Outdoor Heritage has a 9 days before official 2 days of pratice as off limits and no Alabama rig. I appreciate both of those and feel it will give the out of local area anglers a better chance.

We'll see as I'm not even sure how my year will be when I get back but I'm comfident things will work out. Most importantly by new baby is doing stellar!

I'll take silence as a "no". lol

I just watched the videos online and it looks like a pretty neat format.  The paid entry fee thing is one thing that makes it stand out.  100+% paypack for pros is great too.  It'll be interesting come 2014 to see the northwest schedule.  I'd be interested in the co-angler division for sure.

Yeah I like the sound of that also. Pretty cool deal if you get to fish 2 years for the price of one by fishing well in angler points standings.

I also appreciate them having some early season tournaments in Nor Cal. I think they'll do well

oops , my bad JW !!

Yea i plan on fishing these events once the next phase takes place in 2014 ..

I dont plan on making those Cali trips next season !  I was considering checking out a few Everstart events next season but my gut is telling me too save my pennies for the Outdoor Heritage events in 2014 .. so thats my plans thus bro !!  Hey man congrats on the little one also :)

That February Shasta event might be fun

I'm with you Shawn... that's my number one

February is the time to catch the fattys, swimbaits big jerkbaits!

Yeah... should be a fun time, hopefully can fit it in the schedule!

Johnny,

Not sure if you have heard yet but the Outdoor Heritage events are not going to happen due to the series not getting enough sponsorship. See Westernbass.com for more info.

Sorry to see this go away myself.
