... if i were to do it all over again from the beginning:
it aint pretty at the line tie, but it turns those followers into biters. no mas braid for me.
trikfish 25-30lbs (camo) - priced well enough to spool up without backing

- straight mono with a long TAG end

Question, lets say I'm running 65 lb braid to 20-25 lb mono or flouro. 10+ feet of leader, meaning its coming through all the guides on every cast. Should I be re-tieing this knot at least once during the day, or will it last all day ? I have no experience with this knot to leader stuff.

My experience on baitcasting gear has been than once I start tying leaders long enough to wind on to the spool (wind on leaders) then that knot can be a bitch on my thumb coming off the spool. Last year I used some Power Pro Hollow Core Ace with my wind on leaders. I works well, but is not something you would want to do on the boat like you could with tying a section of leader on with the alberto knot. With the alberto knot, I keep that leader short enough so it doesn't come off the spool.

Thank you Tag, and thanks Don for that good piece of info. I think I will keep it short enough to not wind onto the spool at first until I am comfortable with my tying technique. If I see fish start to shy away due to my length of leader (and that happens a ton even using straight mono with SB's) I'll have to lengthen it up a bit.
Tag I'm a Calcutta TE guy so I don't see a ton of backlashes, I think my thumb will be out of the way enough at takeoff haha.
I think my biggest problem will be Will I take enough uummpphh off the hookset since I'll be using braid more. Some of these fish catch you off guard and when they strike it's usually a good surprise, Tag knows lol.
