I've been reading about that tip for years on the BassCat forum, nice to know it actually works. I try to wash mine once a month but it's harder to find the time. Nice tip. Bass Boat Saver as far as the hull is concerned has been working for me.
Living over here at Banks, I have to do it about once a month. Works amazing!!! I usually follow it up with wax as u dry as well. Great tip!
Jordan,

...thanks, was drenched by irrigation water while on vacation at Roosevelt, was dreading using swirl remover on the motor. This worked like a champ today. I used it on the hull too, before I washed and waxed. Grew tip!
Jordan,
Potholes has some of the best fishing and worst water in the state. The hard water spots are tough to clean. You need to get in the habit of wiping the boat and motor down every time you come off the water, I don't care how hot and tired you are. If you leave the hard water spots on for very long, they will start to etch into the clear coat. I've been using Hot Sauce and also the 50/50 mix, both work great. After all these years of fishing Potholes, there is no magical potion that you can just spray on and rinse. It requires good old elbow grease.
