A barn swallow- didn't see the bass eat it- but when it was caught, there was a whole swallow still in his mouth....hmm
Got a 5-2 and 6-2 last year on a bird imitation, swallow pattern too, both in the same day. The 5-2 came about a foot out of the water when it hit.

I saw what had to have been a largemouth blow up on a bat that was flying low to the water as I was loading my boat up Saturday evening at the Steamboat Rock launch at Banks.

Im assuming the bat wasnt in the water?
Most often than not, I believe some of the bass we have caught track the lure during its flight.
