Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I wanted to fill in some of the blanks and questions that are going around concerning the event we have coming up.
There has been overwhelming interest expressed by untold amounts of people that want to show their support for our military and what they sacrifice every day for all of us. Evergreen Bass club wanted to start, what we hope will be an annual event. As a club we decided to establish contacts with the proper agencies to learn how to make this a positive experience for the participants. It's eye opening how much is involved in organizing an event like this and without overwhelming club member support and especially Vice President Mark Jones, his wife Shannan and Al Lewis heading this we wouldn't have a clue where to start.
With that said, we don't want anyone to think that no one else could add to this event nor would we turn down any, and all help, rather we wanted to hold the event this year on a small scale, take what we learn and apply it to future growth. As we all know, the first time you hold something like this there are unknowns, by keeping it small we can control those better.
Our goal is to form a board that will execute future events and open it up to include all clubs that want to be involved.
This years event is being held on American lake, while it is convienient for participants, it isn't a big body of water and couldn't handle all the boats that would certainly want to be involved.
The event is August 22, from 6 am to noon with a BBQ afterwards on Fort Lewis. We have about 70 warriors signed up and ready to go out and have a fun day of fishing.
Thank you all for the interest and support you have shown. I will post a complete list of sponsors and summary of the event.
Feel free to email me at evergreenbassclub@comcast.net with any questions, and we look forward to next year and doing it big.

What an awesome idea. Great job you guys, good luck with the event, and God Bless our Troops.

I had a ton of fun at the event this year. I had three guys in my baot the first three hours. Two of them have never caught a fish before, so this meant I had to teach them to cast and all the above. The next three hours I would say that I had the mecca of all meat fishermen and we kept about 30 perch for them to eat up but released any bass we caught. It was a great time.
I agree, great time... I had a soldier who had so much fun he wouldn't get out of my boat... SO we fished twice! Mark and Shannan did a great job! We went smallie fishing and my soldier caught about 4-5 bass and the "WORLD RECORD PENDING" rock bass!
I put up a list of sponsors in the wrap up discussion.
Thanks again to all the club members, it was a great experience.
I had the pleasure of being in the middle of a husband & wife mini tourney. The wife caught a 15 inch smallie on her second cast he caught one on his fourth and then the @#$% talking began and all I said was here we go !! A whole lot of fun and the warriors loved it.Thanks to all who had a hand in making this a sucess !!
How come I wasn't invited? It sounds like a lot of the top fishermen were there....
Willie,

The next time you hold this event I would very much like to participate in it. I have always wanted to show in some way our thanks to our men and women who protect our freedoms daily in serving this country.

I may become one of your sponsors for this event.

Thanks for making such a valued contribution.

Thank you Russ for showing interest, I am sure that over the next few months we will be taking names and working on the next event.

I don't think American lake is ready for you yet Eric, there are only so many fish and we really wanted the Warriors to catch some...joking aside, thank you for your support and I have your name added to the list for the next one.
