I am looking to get a new rod that will be mainly for dropshotting ... my budget is limited so for the rod and reel I have about $150 for the complete setup. So with that, I am looking for a rod around the $90 price tag. Here are the two that I have been looking at ...

Wright & McGill Tessera 7'2"

St Croix Mojo Bass MBS68MXF or MBS69MLXF

Let me know what you guys think of the two and is this a good direction for me to go?

I would watch the rods and reels section on bassboatcentral. There are some really good deals that come up there and most of the guys selling are straight up.
Good call on that ... am keeping a good eye on that site as well.

Warning !! Warning !! That site will put a negative impact on a bass anglers checking account . Enter at your own risk they are waiting for you !!!

Shimano crucial drop shot rods at three rivers marine as well as the w&m skeet reese series rods (one of the drop shot rods). Match it with a Shimano spinning reel and your in business!
Isn't the Crucial $169? I agree the rod is awesome but I think this guy has $150 for both.

Shimano Crucial CRX DX68MH or DX68M. I have one of each. I think there $119.00 good rods for 119.00 bucks
Thanks for all the input. I have been thinking of getting the Pflueger President 6735 to pair along with the rod. I am leaning towards the W&M Skeet Reese Tessera. I believe the 7'2" model from Tackle warehouse is the dropshop version.

go with the mojo drop shot, and try the pflueger president spinning reel its the smoothest reel i have ever used and after 3 years of use its still as smooth as new the total would maybe be like 160 but a good combo

My dad just got the W&M 7'2" drop shot rod and I have to admit I'm impressed. Although it's hard to say so soon, the rod seems to be a great deal. Construction quality is good and there is a lifetime warranty. My only complaints: 1, the rod is a bit limber for my tastes, but so are all speacialty drop shot rods in my opinion, so I'm prolly just weird. 2, the sensitivity may not be all its cracked up to be, seems a little less sensitive than my lamiglas cert pros, but its hard to say since neither my dad or I have caught a fish on it yet (he just got it yesterday). Overall though, I think it is an amazing rod for the $$$. Its just so YELLOW. Kind of obnoxious if you ask me.
