1. Catch my first bass on a TW Swimmer!
Hey P.J.,
Make sure to have a TW swimmer 475 tied on every time you are smallmouth fishing in Western Washington from late spring through early fall. You will catch one on it for sure next year if you do. If you really want to make sure to catch fish on it, plan a trip to Lake Whatcom in Bellingham next summer during stable weather. You can load the boat on the 475 in Kokanee on a 1/2 oz Blue Shad Revenge Swimbait head. Fish it around all of your typical summertime structure (points, flats, humps, dropoffs, etc.). One thing I like to do is to start a ways back from the structure I am going to be fishing and fan cast my way into it. Then once I have throroughly fished the structure, I will turn around and fancast out as far as I can into open water again. You will get a lot of fish chasing bait that will suspend surprising distances away from the summertime structure they use. I got a couple last year that were suspended say 10 feet down over 100 feet of water. The real key is to fish that bait around structure, cover open water adjacent to structure, and to keep an eye open for fish chasing bait at the surface. I got my first TW swimmer fish ever in May last year and once you get that first fish out of the way, it will become one of your favorite summertime smallmouth baits in a a hurry. Hope this helps!

Same thing happened to me. I used to fish with tubes all the time and do real well on them. Then for some reason I just stopped using them as much over the last couple of years. A couple people that were fishing with me in my boat though whooped up on me pretty bad last year using tubes.

2) Make more trips to Washington and Sammamish this year.
3) Catch a largemouth on an 8" + swimbait.
4) Catch a smallmouth on the King Craw. (I failed at this this fall)
5) Gain more confidence in frogs for summer largemouth.
6) Gain more confidence in punching the slop for summer largemouth.
7) Add 5 new baits I have never caught a fish on to the "confidence list" of dropshot lures for smallmouth.
7) Get in a habit of fishing tubes more frequently again.
Thanks David and Joel for the tips and encouragement! That is the only Swimbait I am going to try this year. I really want to make it happen since I hear so many amazing things about that bait. David I will have to come up to Whatcom for sure I'll look you up!
David,

Jon, it is the plastic swimbait made by KGM in the Kokanee color, the TW came by way of Tag being the field tester and refiner of the bait I believe.
