Hey Guys,

I just replaced my old Costa's with a new pair of sunglasses, they are the ones that won the 09 ICAST Sunglasses Award. They are pretty sweet.

I have all SolarBats and you name the lens color I probably have it ( except Yellow tint)
I love the Solart Bat yellow lenses, I wear them all spring, color definition in overcast or cloudy conditions is impecable.

I have Oakley monster dogs, with the fishing specific lens, forgot what tint. They are great for me. Anyone have Natives ? You can find them at GI Joes. My girlfriend bought a pair, wondering how you like them.
Most of the Solar Bats are pretty affordable aren't they ?
Ya most are cheap but they can get $$$$ i have an $180 pair that you can remove the lens and put diffrent ones in
I got natives CB4. The Tares (w/ clear, yellow, blue lenses all polarized). they are pretty good but I am looking to get back into costas or something else this year in a green lens tint at some point.
Solar bats for me as well. I, like Ron prefer the yellow tint especially for sight fishing in low light conditions. It makes a huge difference. I also have a few other pairs in different tints, but the yellows are my favorite. I've tried lots of different high end brands, and the solar bats have also held up the best. I've found that some other brands when too hot, will break right down the middle.
Ron/Chad/anyone else - have you guys compared yellow lenses to greens for sight fishing? Maybe its my eyes, or my glasses, but I haven't felt like yellow to be ideal (at least my Natives) and am being recommended green/moss lenses.
I use the Solar Bats with the Mossback color lenses. I like them alot, but I might try the new mossback gradient lenses that transition to yellow on the bottom half.
Never heard of those - sounds like a sweet lens. best of both worlds.
I also use Solar Bats with the Mossback lenses. I've been really happy with them. The only problem I've had is I have to keep buying them because I'm real hard on them. For instance when you run them over with your ten foot orchard mower - not good!

Tack another one on the board for yellow lenses in the spring. I wear Costa Del mar's, but most of the stuff out there is nice enough. My general rule of thumb is yellow lenses for overcast or low light, grey for high sun, and amber for those days you just can't decide, or the all around lense.

I also have mossback green lenses in the same frame. I keep both yellow and green in my boat. I think each has a specific job of defining certain colors. Depending on the bottom composition I will use the green or on high sunny days, which we don't get too many on the western half of the state. Most of the time I just put my yellows on at the beginning of the day and I don't ever have to take them off. If you are set on green you might want to try the mossback green lenses from solarbat, they also have a mossback gradient, fading from green to yellow.

I like most have spent over $100 for a pair of glasses but I usually lose them, I have had hobies, oakleys, costa del mar maui jim, smiths, but for the price I think the solar bats are the way to go. The ones I am currently only cost $70, and I can see fish better or just as good as any other $100++ pair I've owned.

One tip you don't always have to get a pair that are deamed fishing glasses. Make sure you get a pair that fits your face keeping out the most ambient light possible. My favorites as of now are made by Solar Bat and were made for cycling!
