Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

My 30lb trolling motor that came with my boat fried on me this morning. Sad sad sad. But now I have a chance to upgrade and get the one I want. But I don't know what I want as I am still pretty new to bass fishing. Thought I could get some words from you opinionated bass veterans. I want a good lasting quality motor for no more than $300. It's gotta be a transom mount because I have an 8 foot plastic walker bay. Thanks all. By the way, if anybody wants a trolling motor that smokes when its in reverse and has little to give going forward then let me know. I've got one for real real cheap.

I have a 50 lb thrust Endura MK on my little boat and it does great. Will run all day on a AC Delco marine battery. You can get one on Tacklewarehouse for under $200 if you act FAST !
why dont you rebuild your motor? i have rebuilt several of them.
Minkota or Motor Guide? There are local techs who can repair them.
i have a 32 lb and it works fine on my old 16 ft aluminum boat.
I guess I just wouldn't even know where to start is the problem. A little local assistance is not a bad idea, though.

You can find them cheap on Craigslist. Heck I have a mk 50 pound thrust I will sell you for $100. I don't even know if that is a good deal.
Shoot i should get it!

Go with a minn kota and go with something over 35lbs of thrust. I have a 12 and a 14ft welded Deep V and I run a 46 and a 55 and they scoot. More power is always a good option to have especially in vegetation and wind. Also remember up to 55lb thrust is still 12 volt so if you want that much power you can have it and still run a single battery.
Hey, Ben. Are you headed over to Bellingham in the next couple of weeks? Seattle area even?

Just what ever you do, do not buy an electric steer. These are not for bass fishing. I unfortunately had to learn the hard way. Buy a cable steer, they are designed for the rigors of constant steering of a bass boat.
