Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

So I am buying my first bass boat a 17.5ft G3 and I want to actually get it insured.  I was wondering what is the best route and if any of you have recommendations on an affordable company to go with.  Do you package with homeowners and car... or use a separate company?  I currently don't hold my own car insurance I am on my family's policy so I am not insuring anything myself.  I guess I am just looking for affordable boat insurance.

Markel writes most of the professional angler policies. They are also very affordable!

I did Boat Insurance Agency out of Seattle,(206) 285-1350 really do well with bass boats and if you want to do tournaments you will need certain type of coverage which a lot of insurance places do not do. My Ranger was about $30 a month for $1 million liability and full replacement of boat and trailer. Also included my gear and all extras on boat.

Only had one claim over the many years I worked with them and it was smooth and trouble free.

Brian makes a great point in that you wan't to make sure your rods and gear are covered!

Bob at worldwide marine is excellent and took great care of me on a claim. Go to bass boat insurance on bassboatcentral and you will find his information. He also rights a lot of the professional anglers policies and has done right by me. He understands how much we have invested in our gear and what not and he writes the policy with that in mind.

I used worldwide,You see the guy Bob Lullen from BBC?He really broke everything down and explanied it very good. And is a avid fisherman"when you talk with him on the phone"and his insurance plan is gear that way also.Saved me money,so I removed my boat from our home, auto insurance package.
Thanks everyone I have complete quotes on the way from all 3 of the places recommended and I'll be making my choice at the end of the week. It seems that for good coverage it will be affordable with all of them.
What did you end up going with PJ? I am looking to make a switch in mine as well... Anyone else have any input?
I went with World wide marine underwriters which is who Shawn told me to go with. The guys Bob and Bill were very helpful and are bass guys. They are found through BBC. They had the best coverage for the bass fisherman and they were very helpful with going through the ins and outs of the policy with me since its my first. Markel never ended up sending me the full quote after I called. The Seattle outfit Brian recommended was my second choice but they did not have quite the level of coverage. The policy I have is through Progressive though when it comes down to it.
