The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

There are a handful of lures/baits that are part of my arsenal that are no longer made commercially. No doubt there are others that are similar or knock-offs, but it just doesn't ever seem to work the same. I'm curious to know what you may use regularly that is no longer made.

Here's a short list of mine:

  • Yamamoto 6" Hula Grub or 6" Double Tail Grub
  • Reaction Innovations 4" Boom Boom Tube
  • Phenix Vibrator Jigs (Yeah I know they knocked off the original chatterbait but I liked the phenix version)
  • The GLX rods that had the titanium guides - now have transitions to the standard ceramic guides
  • Original Storm Wiggle Wart

I'm with you on the new GLX rods, time will tell on the " new " version I guess.
Good topic...
Old terminator pro jig
Clear water sand color tape worm
Old speed traps and hot lips
The green pumpkin candy chigger craw...can't seem to find that anymore...anyone know where I can find that?

Im totally in agreement with you Jordan on the hula grubs and deffinetley the original wiggle warts...those crankbaits can be deadly . Thats the only crankbait my dad threw back in the day. I will gladly buy any originals if there is anyone on here that has some and doesnt care for them. Anyone? Dez?

What color terminator jigs you looking for and what sizes, I have a bunch I want to part with in junebug color and blue olive, I also have a bunch of the other two you mentioned....hundreds.....I am not willing to sale but I will let you look at them! Just call me text or whatever

I will add to the list older terminator spinnerbaits the newer ones blades don't flash nearly as we'll the finish sucks, the old xps minnows from bass pro as well......reels, loved my Daiwa sol and fuego reels, Tdz bait casters ...no longer made.....rods the old Phenix t1 boron rods

Besides all the ones already mentioned I'll throw in the Reaction Innovation Swamp Donkey and the Vixen/Barely Legal Vixen. Paycheck's Repo Man is the Vixen mold, but I don't think the baits are exactly the same...

Just thought of another that I always have in the boat when the shallow crank bite is on the lucky craft RC series, and the cb 100 in the chameleon color. I have quite a few RC cranks lucky enough but it has become número UNO in recent years for waters less than 5 feet

Hey Ron,

When I was back at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO for meetings late last year they had several huge dump bins filled to the brim with old RC 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 crankbaits at the outlet store for around $5 a piece.  Apparently the reason being due to the sponsorship fall-out with Rick Clunn.  I believe Takahiro Omori is the new angler on the packaging.  I will be back in Q1 of this year for meetings with Bass Pro and will be happy to score you some if there are colors/sizes left that you are interested in.  I'll shoot you a call or text.

Take care,

Excalibur - Fat Free Shad. Curado D series reel. Daiwa HSTLA. And agree that the Terminator spinnerbaits from 2-3 years ago have better blades than the ones I have seen on the shelves lately.

I love my Curado D.  Lure wise just the original Terminator spinnerbait.

I've thought about getting some original warts, but they command upwards of $30 each for the ones with good patterns on them.  Bass boat central is a good place to find them.

+1 for the Daiwa Sol Spinning Reels - My Favorite Spinning Reel of All time

+1 for the RI Vixen, was lucky to score about a dozen of them but they are awesome.

Here's another RI item that is no longer made that I miss - The Squeaky Dolphin Buzzbait. That thing rocked and I broke the last one I had.

Ron I'll definitely take some junebug jigs off ya, what sizes to you have?
