WAFISH Tournament Results
20 teams showed up for the WAFISH tournament on December 4th, for a cold and slightly windy day. Fishing was tough for most with only 21 bass caught total. Here's how the top 5 played out:
1st. Gabe Lowe/Tom Librande 9.82lbs - 4 fish
2nd John McHenry/Bob Leary 9.40lbs - 5 fish
3rd. Shawn McConville/RIck Innocenti 8.06 - 3 fish
4th Nick Berto/Shawn/McDaniels 3.75lbs - 1 fish
5th Dave Parnicky/Brian Calvert 3.52lbs - 2 fish
Big Fish 3.75lbs - Nick Berto/Shawn McDaniels
Weird Fish - Phil Mehrtens 2.87lbs Squawfish

I must say that Phil and his better half walked away pretty loaded with rods and awards when the day was done :) They picked up a nice Abu Garcia rod and award for the weird fish and they won the Dobyns grand prize rod in the raffle! Great job to everyone who fish this tough tournament!!! My hat is off and I will see you all out there next year.

I also want to thank Dez for convincing me to fish. It wasn't real cold and I caught a ton of fish...................ok so it was down right freezing and i only caught 2 perch in the first 15 mins of fishing then the rest of the day i was a popsicle. I tried blaring my ipod to forget about the cold which worked for a small portion of the day.

Great event Jordan. Way to run another good one. Does this mean you have giving up being a bass "pro staffer" and now will just be a tourney director! LOL With the weather pattern shift, blue bird skies and stiff northern wind I knew the day would be a tough one. Congrats to all the top finishers.

I have no intentions of becoming a tournament director beyond the 3 events I am running now. I can't explain the feeling I get when you guys are all taking off at blast off, even when it's 30 degrees, I want to be out there so bad fishing against everyone. I don't know how Stiles does it, I would freak out!

Lol ..Lk wash gave me a slap across the face no dout , I still gave it my best shot and i dont have any regrets . I showed up , i got in the pots , and i put my all in every cast , what else can ya do but smile and keep it pushing ..I think it was rule # 2 on rons list of do's & don't for bass tourneys , Dont talk smack about your pre fishing or game plan before any tourney ..(lesson learned);-)

I had a great time talking with everyone and a fun day fishing. Like most, fishing was tough. Shawn and I missed a couple good bites but while Shawn was stuck, I managed to stick one and keep it on.
