Try to learn something new every time you go out. To me the worst days on the water are never wasted if you leave knowing more than you did when you got there.

Take you time when it comes to purchasing Bass Tackle , or before you know it you will have hundreds of $ invested in baits that you will never use .. take it one bag at a time , and keep it simple as for color selection . Let the bait catch the fish , dont get caught by the bait ..!!
When you catch a fish, think about was was going on i.e. lure, retrieve, depth, cover, structure, etc. try to duplicate and look for similar areas. And cheap beer IS ok.
My tip would be to record as much info in a notebook as you can, and if your not doing that now I would start. Record everything! Temps, area, conditions, bait that you used. I really wish I would have done this years ago.
