Has anyone looked or driven an Allison Bass boat?

I have driven one, it was different!
I was looking into them a few years back because I wanted a boat that would have enough seats for my family. I talked to the owner down there on the phone and they seemed pretty cool. I was shocked at the price tag of these though. They are expensive!!! I haven't had a chance to drive one but from all I have seen and heard, they are flat out speed demons. I kind of like the built in headlights too. I have also read on various chat boards that guys are putting 150 hp and 175hp on these to bump up their fuel economy and because they are so light, they are still getting mid to high 70's easy. I am not sure how they would be in rough water though.
Mark,

Different how?

WCCT,

Have been told by someone who has ridden in the newer models that the boat runs great in the 4-5 foot chop, but since I havent been in one myself dont know. I know when I ran the Phoenix at the jamboree I was getting 74 in the 4 foot chop past Poplars in the 721 and it never skipped a beat nor did I or the boat get pounded.

I don't know about you, but 4-5ft waves are not "chop" to me!

Those waves are damn near as tall as me Russ... That Phoenix must really fly!
I have never ridden in an Allison but them strokers sure fly!
Any bass boat would FLY literally in 4-5 foot Swells.
Yes ...4-5ft = waves not chop.
WCCT and I hit 10mph in four foot "chop" with no bilge pump in his champion! Pucker Time. The boat was so full of water I couldn't hardly pull it out with my truck when we trailered it. Of course if we had the bilge I'm sure 70 would have been no probelm:)
In case you haven't noticed Baker has a tendency to exaggerate and that is putting it lightly. It seems like he has no concern for his credibility when he posts.

Allisons are more like race boats with a casting deck. They are not a good choice for serious bass fishermen. If speed is your number one priority get a Bullet, at least it is a real bass boat. If you want a perfectly balanced boat get a Triton.

I have ridden in an allison before , it has been awhile . They are very fast and even lighter then my Bullet. Never had a chance to ride in ruff water. He had a 150 yamaha on it and mid 70s were easy! The holeshot was incredible.. The one thing i didnt like was the deck space , very little especially in the back!
74 in 4ft chop ? Are you sure it wasnt more like 2ft... that seems more realistic.
Allison's don't have any deck space.

I looked at the Phoenix during the jamboree and the quality and construction looked to the same as on my buddies Stratos. Same trim pieces and quality of fiberglass. But definantly not up to the quality of the fit and finish of the Ranger. Looking at them side by side was an eye opener.

And what a joke. No bass boat will go 70 in a 4 foot chop.
