Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Mark and Eric Dawson are towing home a new boat (at least a certficate) after the northwest bass championship this weekend after a whopping 23lb bag of smallmouth on day one which included a 6.5lber and a 5.5lber. They followed up day 1 with a solid 14.5lb bag on day two for a 37.5lb rtwo day total to take the tournament. Big congrats to those guys.

Don Hogue also had a very impressive performance with back to back 17lb bags for 2nd place and as expected, Echternkamp and Kromm also had two solid bags. Nice work guys.

C-ride and I had 15.38 after day one and a disappointing 12lbs on day two after having two fish in the 3-4lb range come unbuttoned.

Nice work everyone.

Talking about big bass this just shows WA can produce some Pigs compared to any state! A 6.5 Bronzeback and a 7.6 Greenie both coming out in competition, in the Fall to boot!!! WOW Congrats to the top finishers seems like the fish cooperated pretty good and made for some exciting competition.
NWB page says the tournament was at Banks anyone else notice that?

Maybe that's why there was only 79 boats? Maybe the 11 other qualified boats where a couple hours north?
Nothing like having a good day and finding yourself behind by 5-6 lbs.

Congrats to Mark and Eric. They deserve it!

H.R. Good catch---Lisa is fixing as I type. Also thanks to Kenny E. as he is always looking after his senior citizen buddies.

Hey Gary, just wanted to thank you and Lisa again for putting on such a great circuit and championship. It was top notch as usual. I wish we could have adjusted better and caught some bigger fish, but oh well, that's fishing. See you down in Cali!

Congrats to the Dawsons! Those are a couple of really great guys. They have earned every bit of it. Those two are hard to beat when they get in the grove. I think I am more excited for those two than if I would have won it. I fish against the Dawsons every year in a small tournament in eastern Washington and they absolutely kick some serious butt!
Jordan and I did ok. We made a couple of decisions that cost us in the end. We lost a couple of 4 lb ers back to back . We ended up getting two dinks to fill those two spots. I should have checked my hook on the last one I lost. It bent the hook out and I didn't look at it before I casted again. The bite was crazy and I got caught up in the moment. Right after that Jordan hooked a big one and I wasn't quick enough on the net and that one got off at the boat. We learned a ton though. I feel very good about going back to Tricities and being a able to put a really good bag together.
Gary was awesome as usual. Only because Lisa keeps him in check :) I think I had just as much fun B.S.ing with Roy Van Slyke. That dude is frickin awesome!
I can't wait for next year except I hate Banks Lake.... My weakness!
Congrats Mark and Eric, I agree that it couldn't have been won by two nicer guys.
Congrats also to mark and Eric. I fished for years against those two in our club, and they are the best to be around, and great friends. don,t fill bad, they kick my butt many times! they really did earn it.
Congrats Dawson's! It was kinda cool hearing about your day 1. Just goes to show if it's gonna be your tourny, then that's the way it is!
