Tag- I tied the Alberto with Tuf65 and maxima 25. Great knot... but when I pull it off spool quickly it seems to make a small bump coming off spool and through line guide hole. Not sure if there is a size difference in line guide on reels between the round reels and 300 lexa reels. I have the leader clipped right at the braid so its not snagging on that. Would just hate to chuck a bait and have it snag hard on that knot. I would call you but wanted it to be on this post instead so other newbies could learn like myself. So do you think this is an issue?
Since I have started fishing leaders and joining braid to mono/flouro I have used a knot I was introduced to under the name Albright knot. After research this Alberto knot is exactly what I have been tying! I guess it's called the modified Albright too... Was worried I was going to have to learn another knot what a relief

I too use the "double albright" or the alberto knot. Works good on small braid with 8-12lb flouro as well as large 65-80lb braid to 20-50lb mono/flouro from bass to lingcod. And the best part is that it is easy to tie.
I think we should rename it to the nick-berto knot.
The beauty of the modified albright (nick-berto knot) is that when you start to pull it together, you pretty much know if you got it right or not. It either comes together real nice, or it doesn't. No false confidence in that knot.
I love it! Nick-Berto knot it is from here on out.

I too use the "Nick-Berto-Knot" and agree with Jake. You either got it right or you didn't!
I'll be trying the Nick-Berto-knot this year. If I tie it wrong and lose a giant, back to straight mono lol.
